Since returning to the modeling hobby 7 years ago, I've thoroughly enjoyed it and couldn't expect to be doing any other hobby. A goal for myself, I set some 3 years ago has finally been achieved. I got published. Not because I asked to be, but because I was approached by the art director and editor of the IPMS Journal to do a 3-4000 article on the '50 Chevy pickup I'd built and posted in-progress pictures of on the IPMS forum. I submitted the article, along with all of the necessary pictures and how-to's that I used in the creation of the build, plus gave creidt to a couple people that assisted me along the journey. The kicker is that my build made the cover! Never in a million years have I ever thought I would have a build featured on the cover of a magazine of any type. Much less the IPMS Journal. I'm grinning from ear-ear and my supportive wife is more geeked than I am about it. I haven't received my copy yet, but it's posted on the IPMS site. It's really great to be recognized for something you truly enjoy doing. My IPMS chapter president wants to do a press release after he gets his copy to help bring more attention to the club and hobby locally.
