About modlbldr’s Workbench

About me and my passion for scale models

Like most builders I also started building as a kid around 7or 8 my first models were air planes and Navy ships, for my birthday one year all the kids bought me models all of them Van models and that started me bulding cars. Over the years I have always had a place to build even if I was limited to small table in the corner, I have built old cars, new cars, hot rods, big rigs, drag cars, pickups, monster trucks and one figure a Spider Man.
I was always a closet builder never showing my models in public dispite the efforts of other builders and the local hobby shop owner to join the club, after years of resisting joining a club I accidentally stopped by Klauses Little Shop of Hobbies in Cotati Ca.on club night he Klaus talked me into staying. It took me a couple of meetings to bring something for show and tell and now I attend as many shows, contests and club meetings I can. I reguarlly attend the monthly meetings of the IPMS Club of Santa Rosa (2nd Thursday) and the Wine Country Modelers Club (3rd Thursday) of every month, and the Model Builders Build and Bull on the 2nd Saturday of every month all of these events take place at HobbyTown USA in Petaluma Ca.
Although I build automotive related models my interests are not limited to them. I believe a model is a model no matter what the subject is and should be appreciated for the talent that went into the build.
